THE HIDDEN REASONS WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO; MOTIVES 5
Blessings everyone, are you aware that God rewards us for
all our labor for others? Whatever we do for others and for God, a record is
being kept. Even in in our daily life, we reward one another based
on performances in form of paycheck/salary, gifts and several other ways that we
use to show our appreciation for either a good deed or a job well done. Same it
is with the awesome God we serve.
Hebrews 11:6 But without
faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Jeremiah 17:10;
I the Lord search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person
according to their conduct, according to what their
deeds deserve.
Wherever we find ourselves and whatever positions we
occupy God wants us to do his will at all times even when we think no one else
is watching us .God is. He expects us to be good bosses at our jobs, good
managers to our workers and for workers; we should do our jobs as unto the Lord
not as men pleasers or as eye services.
Ephesians 6:5-8;
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and
with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. 6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is
on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. 7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord,
not people, 8 because you know that the Lord
will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free.
Colossians 3:22-25; Slaves, obey your earthly masters in
everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to curry their
favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as
working for the Lord, not for human masters, 24 since
you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is
the Lord Christ you are serving. 25 Anyone
who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.
Revelation 2:19-23
I know your deeds, your love and faith, your service and perseverance, and that
you are now doing more than you did at first. Nevertheless, I have
this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet.
By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating
of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her
immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and
I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they
repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead.
Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and
I will repay each of you according to your deeds.
When we serve in various capacities of God’s ministry, we
should do our best to work for God with the right motives and put in our best
because every work we do at the end of time will be tested and we will receive a
reward based on the quality of our works. All works done with wrong motives
evil or selfish will be burnt up and the reward will be lost though we would
not lose our salvation. Therefore it is crucial to check our motives.
1 Corinthians 4:5. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the
Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose
the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15 if anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly
stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown
for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed
with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. If what has been
built survives, the builder will receive a reward. If it is burned up, the builder will
suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
May all our good works for the Lord and for others be
purified by fire and may we get a good reward at the end of it all in Jesus name.
Amen
Have a powerful day and great weekend ahead.
