NUGGETS ON’ DIVINE’ CALLING 2

NUGGETS ON’ DIVINE’ CALLING 2

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,   so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
It is important to note that some things God may be calling us to do are what we may not like doing or think we can do but this is where God’s Grace steps in to help us accomplish the calling.
Philippians 4:13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:5 It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.

Corinthians 12; 8-9 Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
Enjoy my nuggets on some examples of  people’s calling  in the Old Testament:
The First person made by God was Adam and in Genesis 2: 18. God made him a woman to be his help meet to help him carry out his roles in the Garden of Eden before they both sinned and were thrown out of the garden.
Genesis 2; 15-18 The Lord God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. 16 But the Lord God warned him, “You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden— 17 except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.”
18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.
Noah’s calling:
This is the account of Noah and his family. Noah was a righteous man, the only blameless person living on earth at the time, and he walked in close fellowship with God. 10 Noah was the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
11 Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. 12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. 13 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth!14 “Build a large boat from cypress wood and waterproof it with tar, inside and out. Then construct decks and stalls throughout its interior. 15 Make the boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet high. 16 Leave an 18-inch opening below the roof all the way around the boat. Put the door on the side, and build three decks inside the boat—lower, middle, and upper.17 “ Look ! I am about to cover the earth with a flood that will destroy every living thing that breathes. Everything on earth will die. 18 But I will confirm my covenant with you. So enter the boat—you and your wife and your sons and their wives.
Genesis 7:5So Noah did everything as the Lord commanded him.

 Abraham’s calling:
Genesis 12:1-3 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.
Moses‘s calling  at the burning bush.
Exodus 3:4-10   When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses! “And Moses said, “Here I am. “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said, “I am the God of your father.
Samuel’s calling:
1 Samuel 3:1-10 Meanwhile, the boy Samuel served the Lord by assisting Eli. Now in those days messages from the Lord were very rare, and visions were quite uncommon. One night Eli, who was almost blind by now, had gone to bed. The lamp of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Tabernacle near the Ark of God. Suddenly the Lord called out, “Samuel!”
“Yes?” Samuel replied. “What is it?” He got up and ran to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”“I didn’t call you,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So he did. Then the Lord called out again, “Samuel!”
Again Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”“I didn’t call you, my son,” Eli said. “Go back to bed.”Samuel did not yet know the Lord because he had never had a message from the Lord before. So the Lord called a third time, and once more Samuel got up and went to Eli. “Here I am. Did you call me?”Then Eli realized it was the Lord who was calling the boy. So he said to Samuel, “Go and lie down again, and if someone calls again, say, ‘Speak, Lord, your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to bed.10 And the Lord came and called as before, “Samuel! Samuel!”
And Samuel replied, “Speak, your servant is listening.”
Joshua’s calling:
Joshua 1:1-6 after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites.  I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.  Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
Gideon’s calling:
Judges 6:11-18 The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a wine press to keep it from the Midianites.  When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.”The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you? “Pardon me, my lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.’ The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive. Gideon replied, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, give me a sign that it is really you talking to me. Please do not go away until I come back and bring my offering and set it before you. “And the Lord said, “I will wait until you return.”

NUGGETS ON’ DIVINE’ CALLING 1

NUGGETS ON’ DIVINE’ CALLING 1
Thanking God for another beautiful day. This week I will be sharing on the series ”Nuggets on Divine Calling”. Enjoy and remain blessed and highly favored of God.
Calling:   A strong urge toward a particular way of life or career; a vocation. It is also referred to as Assignment. This first definition is not spiritual and it is ordinary; the one I will be sharing on for the next few weeks is the Spiritual and Divine one.
Divine means God Given; it is God that has given us the specific vocation or special services unto him.
Assignment: Something that has been assigned, such as a mission or task. Divine Calling is the assignment that he created us to do while we are alive in this body.
Divine Calling   is also the strong inner, impulse inclination that is motivated by God in human beings. It is God calling man, the Mighty calling the weak and the immortal calling the mortal to his servitude. It is the particular direction that God wants us to take and also a heavenly commission. It is the revelation of God’s will for our lives and a call for us to use the gifts, talents and abilities he deposited in us for humanity. This is the divine invitation from God to seek his own plans and purpose for our lives rather than going our own ways to do our own things.
Everyone created by God is created to fulfill a   particular purpose for a specific God given assignment/calling. Before one can begin to discover or walk in that the person has to renew his or her relationship back to God by accepting the first call which is to receive Jesus as Lord and savior so he can be saved. Everybody born by a woman inherited Adam’s sin in the garden of Eden , so we all need to repent of that sin and get back  the lost fellowship and communion  with God  by getting born again.
Genesis 2:17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Genesis 3:22-23 Then the Lord God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever”— therefore the Lord God sent him out of the garden of Eden to till the ground from which he was taken.
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
John 3:5-8 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.  Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You   must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Once the person receives Christ, He now belongs to the family of God and can call God His Daddy.
Matthew 18:3 and said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Everybody must accept this call for relationship back to God like little children before they can enter into a relationship with Jesus and before they can start the journey of entering into the divine calling from God. This is the only prerequisite that every -one needs to fulfill before they can begin to pursue their divine calling in God. When we accept Jesus into our lives,  that is the beginning of our experiencing the fullness of our walk with God our Daddy, before that everything we have been doing has temporal value with no eternal value.
Romans 8:15 For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Galatians 4:7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
The next call for every believer that has accepted Jesus into their life as Lord and Savior is to preach the Gospel of Jesus to others we come across them in our daily life, businesses, home and ministries. We are not all called to  be pastors or opening Churches and so on  but our lives/ our ways of living   are the Gospel that others will be reading. Our lives and the way we live  are supposed to conform to the teachings of Christ, so others can aspire to become like Christ and be converted.
Mark 16:15-18 He said to them, “Go into the entire world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Our lives are meant to be an Epistle to others so they can read it and desire the Christ in us so they receive Christ into their own lives too. They should see us, like what they see and desire to serve the God we are serving.
2 Corinthians 3; 2-3 You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
2 Corinthians 2:15-17 Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15 For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing. 16 To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is sufficient for these things? 17 For we are not, as so many, peddling the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

The last call is our own personal calling, doing that original assignment that God   created us to be doing from the foundation of the earth. Until we discover this calling, every other thing we are doing just remains to be good things and not God Things. We are  all temporary resident living here on borrowed time to achieve all that God has designed for us to accomplish  .Unfortunately not  everybody live and die fulfilling their  divine assignment .It is our responsibility after getting saved to discover , start running with it  and begin to fulfill our assignment. Therein lays our eternal joy and eternal reward. For the unsaved, they may be successful in doing their assignment but the eternal reward is what they will miss out on. Not all good things are God things. God things can only be discovered after getting saved. Just like it takes more than being good to be saved, it also takes more than being good to discover one’s divine assignment.
Are you fulfilling your divine assignment?Do you know the difference between divine and physical assignment?
