One of the things we will
need to build on as we go along this new month is to grow our faith and be more confident
in ourselves and in the abilities that God has endowed us with. This confidence
building is also linked to our individual closeness or relationship with God
our Father. As a believer in God, our faith increases as our confidence
increases and our confidence increases based on our revelation and knowledge of
the Word of God .That means we have to spend time reading, studying and
meditating on what God’s Word says. Whenever fear and doubt creeps in our mind
as they would since we are human, the Word we know and have been feeding on
creeps out to dissipate the fear and doubt .We negate the fear by speaking out
loud positive words based on The Word of God.
Romans 10:17 so
then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Hebrews 11:1-3 now
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders
obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed
by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which
do appear.
Faith is
absolute confidence in God, His Word and the practical demonstration of the
trust by believing that God is more than able to accomplish all He said without
doubting, wavering or compromising His Words.
When we get saved, we all
automatically get a measure of faith.
Romans 12: 3 For
I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to
think of him more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Our salvation
itself was by faith and it is a gift from our loving father to us His sons and
daughters.
Ephesians 2: 8For
it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from
yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.
We did not see God or Jesus
face to face but we believed in him enough to make us confess the prayers of
Romans 10: 9-10.
‘If you declare with your
mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the
dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are
justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved’.
The new way of life of a believer
has expected by God is to live by faith and that is why it was repeated in four
places in the scripture. Repetition is for significance and importance.
Hebrews 10:38: Now
the just
shall live by faith; But if anyone draws
back,
My soul has no pleasure in
him.
Habakkuk
2: 4: Behold the proud His soul is not
upright in him; But the just shall live by
his faith.
Romans 1:17: For
in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is
written, “The just shall live by faith.
Galatians
3:11. But
that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident,
for “the just shall live by faith.
Therefore if we truly
want to manifest and experience the fulfilling life that God has provided for
us, we will need to live according to his standards and rules. One of the
reasons some Christians are struggling in their faith is because of lack of
knowledge of God words. The days we live in are the days of The Spirit; you
cannot operate in the Spirit without faith. These days the economy is so
unstable like in the days of the Egyptians, therefore it is crucial to know how
to abound in Goshen in the time of recession. Everything you see in the
physical did not just manifest like that, they had to be given birth to first
from the spiritual. To live in the Spirit, is to live by faith and to live by
faith is living by the Word of God. Anything that is lacking in our physical
world around us can be given birth to in The Spirit. God is able to do
exceedingly abundantly above all we can ask or think according to the power
that is at work in us.
Ephesians 3:20. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all
that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
The spiritual can bring
forth creative miracles, healing, restoration, deliverance, provision, witty
inventions when we take time to get pregnant with the physical seed in the Word
of God. A habit and culture of reading, meditating, speaking and doing the word
of God brings forth spiritual things to manifest in the physical. This requires
diligence, discipline and consistency.
We have to spend time in the
Word of God so we can know more about The God of the Word.
The times we spend are not
wasted; they are times of revelations from The Holy Spirit about us and our
live. They are times that the written word becomes a spoken word for our
situations/circumstances. Remember the Word of God was written by men as
inspired by The Holy Spirit, they are not ordinary words but life Zoë life
changing words that contain (Dunamis) POWER.
2 Peter 1:20 -21 knowing
this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation 21 for
prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as
they were moved by the Holy Spirit
2 Timothy 3:16 All
Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that
the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
When
we are consistently doing these, we will begin to operate like God want us to;
to create, multiply, dominate, replenish the earth and to destroy all the works
of the enemy.
The same way we feed our
physical body for nourishment so also we are supposed to be feeding our Spirit
man with the Word of God daily. Most uncommon dreams and our visions are
impossible to accomplish with physical might, they are however achievable with
spiritual might The Spiritual might is attainable through a Spirit filled life;
which is a life of Faith. Ability to believe in impossibilities lies with our
faith filled life/spirit filled life.
Faith enters
our heart whenever we hear the words of God spoken. The following are ways we
can hear the Word by reading The Holy Bible, by listening to sermons on tapes,
audio, by listening to messages from men and women of God from God's Word,
watching the Bible on Dvd, listening to cd or mp3 player. When we develop
a consistent habit of hearing God’s Words our doubts disappears and our
confidence in God increases. Our faith grows as we feed it or it becomes small
as we starve it. The more of the Word of God we feed on, the more faith we have
and the more our trust in God increases.
Matthew 8:26 He
replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and
rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
Matthew 8:10
When Jesus heard this, he
was amazed and said to those following him, “Truly I tell you, I have not found
anyone in Israel with such great faith
Matthew 15:28
Then Jesus said to her,
“Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was
healed at that moment.
The level of our faith
depend on our own pursuit and hunger for more of God’s Word .When the Apostles
asked God to increase their faith, he replied them by saying they only needed a
small amount of faith as small as mustard seed to accomplish their goals.
This statement is to
encourage us that sometimes it’s not about the quantity of our spirituality or
quantity of our ‘faith’ but the quality of our Christian lives and the fruits
we are bearing; this is what we ought to be doing as disciples.
John 15; 1-8
I am the true vine, and my
Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit,
while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, so that it will be even more
fruitful. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. Remain
in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must
remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
I am the vine; you are the
branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart
from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch
that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the
fire and burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever
you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you
bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
God desires for us to bear
fruits and remain in Him .He even works with us to make sure our lives are
fruitful .He does this by pruning and cleaning us but we also have our own
share of responsibility of asking for more of His wisdom ,yearning for him and
seeking his will from His Words for our lives.
James 1:5; if
any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and
without reproach, and it will be given to him.
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find;
knock, and it will be opened to you.
We can only achieve many of
our dreams and goals with him as our co- partner, that’s why he reminded us that
without him we can do nothing.
It’s time to dig in the Word
and bring out those great dreams; somebody out there is waiting for our new
ideas, new books, new innovations and creativity. Once we do our part of
feeding our faith, our confidence in the God we serve will increase and He will
be able to do exploit through us.
Daniel 11:32 and
such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but
the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but
you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to
all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then
you will have good success.
